1 Magnetawan Canada Day Celebrations will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  at the Magnetawan Community Centre Pavilion and The Village Green.

6 - 8 Sportbike Rally The Town of Parry Sound will be hosting the 25th Annual Sportbike Rally. Highlights will include: Professional Stunt Show, Thunder Run, Manufacturers’ EXPO, Poker Ride, Show ‘n Shine, Entertainment, Vendors, Super Moto (tentative), and much more.

6 - 8 Family Fishing Day in Britt

6 - 8 Family Fishing Weekend Licence-free fishing and derbies throughout the area.

7 Journey 2007 A Festival of Peoples takes place at the French River interpretive centre on Highway 69. A combination of a traditional Powwow and a Métis Rendezvous, the event will feature dancers, drummers, music and information about Aboriginal heritage. The Grand Entry is scheduled for noon. Activities are expected to run until approximately 7 p.m.

7 “Doris McCarthy Day”
will be held at The Station Gallery. July 7 has been named as in her honour. A celebration will be held at the Parry Sound Station Gallery to commemorate her contribution to Canadian art and her 97th birthday.

7 Carling Benefit Dinner at the Carling Recreation

8 The 4th Annual Georgian Bay Green Festival will be sponsoring the Kite Festival held at the Charles W. Stockey Centre from noon to 4 p.m. with kite making workshops, demonstrations, and much more.

8 The Parry Sound Horticultural Society will present its annual Garden Tour  from 1:30 p.m. to  4 p.m. showcasing outstanding gardens throughout the town of Parry Sound. Tickets and maps are available on the day of the tour at Market Square Park or prior to July 8 from Society members.

27 - 30 Algonquin Regiment Veterans Family
Reunion in Parry Sound, hosted by the Algonquin Regiment Veterans’ Association.

27 - 28 3rd annual Paint The Town will be held by artists in Parry Sound. Artists will be creating works around the town, which will be sold by silent auction each day at the St. James United Church, downtown Parry Sound. Public viewing is all day and auction bids close at 5 p.m. Hosted by the Station Gallery.
28 Paddle to the Cure: Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the paddle will begin at 11 a.m. followed with a lunch, live entertainment, and live auction. It will be held at Gilly’s Snug Harbour Restaurant, Carling.

24, 25, 26 5th annual Tugfest, held at the Big Sound Marina. Event includes tug races, parade of lights, tug pull, entertainment and tug viewing.

26 McKellar Two Triathlons at the McKellar Community Centre.

31 - September 3
7th Annual Ontario Rock Crawl Competition, with headquarters  at the KOA and event offsite 5 minutes away. The London and Area Jeep Club invites participants with  4X4’s of all makes and sizes to compete for 2 days, with each day being a separate number of courses. Closing ceremonies Sunday night at the KOA, including corn roast.

25 Show-N-Shine
Returning on Saturday, September 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. is the Annual Kinsmen Show N Shine at the Kinsmen Park location on Highway 124 just past the junction of Parry Sound Drive.

Studio Tour at studios open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the Parry Sound area. Brochures will be available around town and at the studios.
